On Thursday 19th January, Shockwave Specialist Norwich Managing Director Sam pinged me a message on Instagram. In a bit of a hurry, he needed me to come to his clinic and shoot a short promotional video the following day.

I was able to move some bits around and make it happen. The following morning at 8am I met sam at his new clinic on the outskirts of Norwich. He showed me around, explained all of the equipment and told me the story of setting up in the fine city.

The Shockwave Specialists Video Shoot

The location itself is fantastic and the weather on the day was more than we could have hoped for. Armed with my Sony A7iv 4K video camera and other accessories, I was ready to roll.

Accompanying us was a good friend and fellow photographer, Daniel Gheorghe. He was in charge of capturing the clinic from the air using his DJI Mavic Air 2s drone.

While on site I made sure to capture enough footage of the clinic and take the viewer on a journey. Starting with the surrounding area and exterior of the building. Following that I moved into the reception area where a couple of shy members of staff had a laugh about featuring in the video.

From there we moved down the corridors and into Sam’s clinic. Highlighting that hygiene is is paramount and demonstrating some of the technology and equipment used.

Editing the Promotional Video

With only two hours to grab the footage, it left plenty of time in the day to edit the final piece. I got home, put on the kettle and booted up my laptop.

Personally I use Adobe Premiere Pro to edit all of my video work. This is everything from event videography to colour grading film.

What does a promotional video like this cost?

As a freelance photographer and videographer I charge by the day. My costs are outlined below:

  • Local Day Rate | Norwich & Norfolk – £345 (up to 8 hours)
  • Additional Hourly Rate | Local Shoot & Editing Only – £45ph
  • Nationwide Photography & Videography Day Rate – £345 plus travel costs

The project you see here was completed in one day.
